Me and My Girls..Guatemala Bound

Yep... my true love and passion is becoming a reality. Since I was young I wanted to be overseas making a difference in peoples lives for Jesus..... then I got married to an amazing, loving, Christ follower who did not want to go overseas. Our deal: If the opportunity presents and God blesses it.. go for it! It took 20 years of marriage but it's finally happening. Becca, Boo, and I are going to Guatemala with our high school group this summer. I can't wait! Passport in hand, skirt in the suitcase, Bible tucked in backpack, let's go!
We leave July 23rd and come back July 31st. We covet your prayers for each of the team members and the family left behind. We covet your prayers for God's Spirit to go before us and prepare the way. We covet your prayers for details to be clear and finances to be available.
We are sending out letters to raise our support and also doing whatever we can here. My Becca makes one FINE from scratch, thank you very much, chocolate cake. We are selling those to make money and cleaning houses, anything and everything. We are also taking gift offerings for those led to do so. Our goal is 3900.00 for all three of us.

So excited!! Can't wait!

Papa Received One More Today

This is our worship pastor, Kevin Walker. He has been fighting cancer since July. Well.... he's not fighting anymore. He's walking in Heaven today probably scouting out the closest piano around. Kevin called God his Papa and the way he loved was how God loved. He's not suffering anymore. Missed terribly though.

70.20.70.20....hmmm

Yesterday it was GorGeouS weather....just what we've waited for! Today it is... well, snowy. 70 one day, 20 the next. We may get 8 inches or more out of this spring time storm. No, I do not want to hear about your flowers blooming. Soon enough I say. Soon enough.

This is life SPRINGING forth from the ground! You know what that means? Warm weather is on its way. Flip flops and suntan bodies. Swinging on the back porch when ever I want cause we don't have bugs or mosquitos, thank you very much. Summer time. Oh sweet Jesus the warm weather is just around the corner. Sing with me people!

Laptops x 2

Our family has been functioning with one, count it ONE, laptop. Mind you T has his work laptop and his desk top but us ladies, we are sharing one single ol' laptop. I tried not to complain, really I did, but when three of us have papers, school work, and anything else a computer requires, it is always a juggling act. So finally, we were able to budget for a laptop for me. The BIG argument, I mean discussion :) was Hp or Apple? Hp or Apple?? Hp won out this time. I know, I know.... all you Apple fans but Hp had a sweet deal and when your man works for them too... well, you go with the crowd. Cool thing is Becca got one too! We were so excited when they arrived but with T out of town we had to wait for awhile to open our packages. Oh I'm thrilled to call this white machine my own. All mine!

Bedroom Re-Do

When Terrell travels, I get creative. This time I decided to make our master bedroom much nicer and more welcoming. It all happened by happenstance really. I have looked for black and white bedding for a while and knew what I wanted but was not willing to pay gazillions of dollars. I went grocery shopping at Wal-Mart the Monday T left town and I wondered aimlessly around. Now remember, my Wal-Mart is clean and oh so beautiful. This is a small town and they are determined to stay in business. I, for one, visit them daily. I came across this black and white set marked wayyy down... $40.00.. let me here a shout out..uh huh. I grabbed it and went home with a plan. I went back to the store, Wal-mart that is, and bought paint and supplies. The project began. The house was a disaster the rest of the week and my GIANT school project due Sunday was on hold. By Thursday, the girls jumped in to save their flailing mother and we finished just before Bible study. I bought new knobs, a new light (still waiting to be hung), hooks for T's hats, we oiled every piece of furniture just like my Mom taught me..thanks Mom, we vacuumed in places that missed daylight for two years and Wa La! It was perfect. T was "scheduled" to come home Friday... just enough time to clean the rest of the tornado struck home. At 9pm that Thursday night we come driving up into the garage and Lina says Dad's home! I said so calmly while focusing on pulling my beast into the garage, " No, he's coming tomorrow." She proceeded, "No, he's HOME." I looked over on the front porch and there he was!! I was so excited we finished our project, so excited he was home early, and so distraught the rest of the house was horrifically messy! Terrell loved what I did with our own space and could care less the rest was a mess. Oh baby.. we've come so far in 20 years of marriage!

4 Organizers Save My Sanity

My kids are older and along with older comes busier.
Every day I ask:
You work when?
You have school when?
Are you home for dinner?
Do you want to work out?
Who are you with?
That's due when?
Will you be home today?
Today.. problem solved! Wal-Mart, my local problem solver had these handy dandy organizers. Boo said it was good we didn't have 10 kids, it will fill up the WHOLE wall then. Now to walk the kids over and hand them a pen! My sanity will return. Yeah!
