Breathe

This weekend is our High School Winter Retreat! The theme is Breathe.. you know, slow down, rest, sabbath, contemplate.
We are very excited to see what God is going to do this weekend. I'm writing all this to ask for prayer. Prayer for the leaders going (that includes me). Prayer for the kids. Prayer for T and I. We are the last speakers of the weekend. Tag teaming it. I've wanted to do this for a long time with my husband and by golly, we get to now! We got our outline ready but without Jesus filling us up and flowing out of us it won't matter how good the outline looks. So.. would you pray?

Life

Hockey Time with some great friends!

This is how he keeps his stress under control when the weather is yucky outside. Go Terrell!

The four day sleepover marathon!
How busy can one person be and still live by their motto of Simplicity?
Let's see...
1. Help Gabe get all college stuff in order for new school. Buy books, fill out application, deal with COF funds, call CSU for withdrawal procedure.. and then some.
2. Start two classes of 5 for the semester with Regis. One five week, one eight week.
3. Start and finish 2 projects for school each requiring a 10 page paper and presentation. Oh yeah, weekly homework and papers as well.
4. Awana leader
5. High school co-leader for girls Bible study
6. Friends visit for weekend.. yeah friends.
7. Start a Candida cleanse ... again. Maybe this time I can stick to this sucker and actually start to feel human. Is it possible? Hmmm.
8. Mom
9. Wife
10. Cook ...ha!
11. Calendar keeper and family advisor
You get it... my days starts at 7 ish AM and keeps on going. I do stop for my quiet time and some brain down time but I'm in a season of busyness. I am okay, just tired. But I think my tiredness is due to this stupid Candida running rampant in my body and the need for more sleep. I still need 10 hours every night. Does NOT happen. Oh yes.. and the arm hand falling asleep waking me up to remind me of my issues. Oh doesn't this sound like fun!! Can you tell I'm sick of being tired???! The food thing is another biggy. I need to start repeating over and over.. I'm allergic to sugar, I'm allergic to sugar. Then maybe I can have more energy. But I realllly love it. So I suffer. How stupid HOW STUPID!
So.. Life is full. With having all my chickies back in the nest it makes it wonderfully full. For how long.. who knows?
I think it's time for another weekend away with my main squeeze.

Compassion International : Haiti

Hey all...

The catastrophic earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12 has resulted in unfathomable chaos and devastation for hundreds of thousands of children and families.

Compassion sponsors and donors serve more than 65,000 children in Haiti. At least a third of them live in the areas that were hardest hit.

I am asking you to please send a generous gift today to help precious children and their families, and to encourage others to give to Compassion International.

The people of Haiti desperately need our help and hope.

Compassion International is working rapidly to assess the situation and determine the full extent of damage:
• Sadly, we anticipate there will be many deaths.
• We anticipate thousands of children and families will have lost everything.
• We anticipate many of our church-based child development centers will have been destroyed.

Without a doubt, the children we serve in Haiti are in shock and face immediate needs for food, water, medical care, shelter and counseling. We have teams prepared to respond, and we are deeply committed to helping each child.

We need your help immediately.

Please reach out in the name of Jesus to bring relief, comfort, love and restoration to precious children and families whose lives have been devastated by this crisis.

Blue and Green are Better Than White

White, White, WHITE! Dishes that is. I have been looking for dishes since last November. T and I found a great set at Dillard's, a Tuscan set, very nice, really loved it, but it was NEVER EVER on sale. So in total frustration I kept looking. And you know what I found.. white and more white dishes. It's not that I have anything against white and all, I just wanted color. A splash of color makes me happy. Annnnnd I want reasonably-cost-effective. Is that so much to ask for? Apparently it is! The other day I found an awesome set at Macy's; artistic, full of color, so exciting....and then I turned the plate over... $42.00 a plate! UGH!
Eureka! We went by happen stance into Pier One and they had these fine looking dishes ON SALE! Oooh... love that on sale part. Blue and Green, Solids and a Splash of fun in a few bowls. Perfect. Not the Tuscan set but absolutely in the budget. DONE. I can now have you over for dinner and you won't have a chipped mix matched dish.
