Headache, Headache go away...

Don't come back any ol' day!

I don't have headaches but once a month and ya'll know when that is. Except lately. I think it's weird. Or lack of sleep. Sleep...hmm.. Been pulling a Terrell lately. I wake up at 3:30am (yes, I checked last night) and toss and turn for hours. Last night I had a talk with Jesus about this lack of sleeping and decided to pray. Couldn't hurt, I'm awake anyhow.

So here it is 2:31pm and this stupid headache won't leave me alone. Yes, I'm staying hydrated. No, I'm not taking anything. Good grief I'd be on it too often.

I think I'll be getting a foot massage tonight.

Anniversary Fun!

We had so much fun last night!! Terrell took me to the Melting Pot in downtown Colorado Springs. We love the downtown area and this place was perfect. He arranged for us to have a private room ..ooh..LoVeD it! We could talk and not be disturbed. Soo Romantic. We took 3 hours to get through all our servings; cheese fondue, salad, meat and fish, veggies, and finally dessert. We chose dark chocolate for our dipping sauce! What a great way to enjoy an Annversary! This cute photo is with my phone. I didn't take my camera on purpose. Sweet man gets tired of me saying "smile" all the time.

19 Years Ago Today.... Happy Anniversary!

Terrell and I are celebrating 19 years of marriage today. I tell you I feel like I blinked and here we are. We have had 4 kids, 6 houses, many moves, a few jobs, changed hair color, lost hair, gained weight, lost weight, traveled, bought and sold too many cars to tell you, been to funerals, been to weddings, prayed together, cried together, screamed and fussed, laughed and wept together, loved together. The key is together. I wouldn't change any of it. I love that man more now than before. Is it easy, this thing called marriage? No. Then sometimes, Yes. Is it worth it? Oh yes. Nothing good comes without work, right? Sometimes you push through ugly times and other times you sail through blessed times. Could we say we did it alone? No way. If it wasn't for Jesus being the third strand keeping us bound together, we couldn't have made it. Terrell and I also have the blessing of parents who have stuck it out. What an amazing example for us and other young couples. So today I look back in reflection of where we were 19 years ago and where we are today in 2008. God has been so good. I am so thankful for Terrell and his unending devotion to me. He is my soul mate, friend, and lover. No one else for me.

I love you Spike Harry Jones.
Here is the wedding party of 1989. Don't we look hot in our big fuchsia dresses. My sister Reginia was my Matron of Honor, Bobbie Jo and Robby were candle lighters, and Terrell's brother and cousin were groomsmen. We also had dear friends in our wedding; Karen, Kim, and Greg. T's uncle took our photos to save money. It was a great day. Beautiful October fall morning.

Here is Robby at as a young whipper snapper. Now he's married and has his own family.

Our amazing RX-7. I remember the first time he took me out and drove up to the house in this. Hmm.. On our honeymoon we went to some fun places in California in this little car. Oh the memories. Gas was cheaper too! Terrell and I have always enjoyed road trips. We like seeing new places and talking in the car for hours.

I was 22 years old and my mom was 45. I am now 41. Weird!
Here are my folks now. Still kicking strong and full of life! They have celebrated 45 years of marriage. Sure hope they move here soon.

And here we are today. Silly man would not cooperate for a photo. Hey.. HE bought me my new camera. At least he could smile when I ask! :)
This photo is from this summer, our first in Colorado. New hair color for 2008. Here's T's folks... 50 years of marriage and counting.
This photo is from the family cruise in 2007 for T's folks 50th anniversary! How many can say that. Too Fun!

A Rough Beginning to a New Week

So. It's Monday. The day I try to accomplish as much as humanly possible in one day. Laundry, Change our sheets, Bread, Errands, Phone Calls, going down my list. Busy.

This morning started off wrong. See, I'm not sleeping well and that's just not like me. I am awake probably 4 times a night lately. Last night I woke up to go to the restroom and ran smack into into our TV cabinet. uh huh. Hurt. Did I mention I have no sense of direction and feel my way around in the dark. And yesterday I was getting out of my Suburban and landed wrong on my ankle. Oh yes.. It's lifted. Big drop. Took me to the ground screaming. Still hurts. Oh and I'm planning on trying a new class at the gym tonight. Cardio Kickboxing. Yah, right. Well... I get up at my usual time, 6:45am, to take Boo to school and Bec to the ranch to work. Get home 45 minutes later and two of my family members don't respond like I need them to this morning. Great. Even made Poppy Seed muffins. They of course have no clue these other things are wrong. No wasn't asked. Food. Budget says "STOPPPP!" Cabinets and Fridge says, "You better get to the store sometime soon, don't you think?" How did I go wrong this month. I planned so carefully. So... I'm in recovery mode. It's a chocolate sort of day.

Totally Lina

I keep walking by this scene on the back porch.... and all I see is my baby girl. This picture totally describes my daughter. She loves pink. She loves warm weather. She loves being outside. She loves the snow. She leaves her "stuff" everywhere. She even stands the way the shoes are positioned. Gotta love it!

October 22..A Snowy Sort of Day

Check out the yellow tree against the blue sky... WOW!
Our first snow of the season came last night. Whoo Hoo!

The driveway and roads were real icy. It took me 30 minutes to get Boo to school and me back home today. Not the norm. People were driving real slow and still spinning out. Can they Not buy a front wheel or four wheel drive? Come on now.. It is Colorado!
7AM! On our way out to school.

Yep... LandCruisers Rock!

Any Ideas?

Tom Davis returned from Ethiopia with hope to sponsor 10 orphanages. In the upcoming days he will tell how we can come alongside and partner with him. Maybe it's a church, maybe it's a life group, maybe it's a youth group. Maybe this blog and its readers. How about you? Once I find out what this looks like I am hoping Reality Check can do its part.

Willing to join? Please pray and read this blog. http://tomdavis.typepad.com/ and visit this website http://www.hopechest.org/

There will be more information coming soon! One can do a little but together..we can do so much!

2 Days, 2 Hikes

This was out by Hp. Well, actually right behind it. Literally! Beautiful day. Couldn't ask for more.

This is near our home. Another beautiful day! Yah Fall!

I love Hiking!!!

Ethiopia..What's Next?

Today on Tom Davis' blog page, he gave an update on his trip to Ethiopia. The purpose is to raise up people and churches to sponsor children in orphanages that are not receiving help otherwise. These children are not the ones we hear of that are waiting for homes like we have. Many will be raised in the orphanage until they are grown. There are many details to consider but just reading about it would be a first step. Please take a few minutes today to step beyond your borders and see the faces of the children... then pray.

Quiet

I'm in a quiet period.

Hardly any phone calls, emails, post o this ol' blog, just quiet. My Lord, the Holy One, the One I love, the One I desire to really know is taking me to new places on my journey with Him. I am hungry for the Word, hungry for His Spirit, looking for Him everywhere right now. Finding Him.

In Jeremiah the Lord says, " Then you will call upon me and come and pray and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found ...." God doesn't change. His Word says He's the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. Life gets crazy. The world is messy. Still... He. is. God.

My kids learned a song during their pre-school years at Peoples Church in Fresno. I find myself singing it daily.. "My God is so Big. So Strong and So Mighty. There's Nothing my God can not do for you.. and you.. and you.." I can see them running around the living room with amazing energy singing this little song. They had it so right.

Tooth Fairy MIA

We, being both parents here, are THE worst Tooth Fairy around. Days go by before we remember to shove money under the sweet child's pillow. I keep hoping with each child it would get better, but no! We still forget. How sad is it when your baby gets up in the morning and says, "You forgot again." Of course we wait so long that we feel interest is now due the child. Angelina lost a tooth, last week mind you, and this is the note we got on our door last night. She is so sweet in reminding us, now isn't she? (That was by best southern drawl by the way)
Maybe by the time she loses her molars we'll remember.

Glen Eyrie Castle

For all my fellow home-schoolers: General Palmer built this school house for his girls to attend school on the grounds. There was a"railroad war" going on and the General was concerned for the safty of his girls. So.. they were home-schooled! How would you like this on your own property?

Terrell and I went with Tim, Jennifer and E today to the Glen Eyrie Castle. I uploaded the slide show below but you just can't get the full effect~ This place is the Navigators headquaters. The story is amazing and the grounds are beautiful! If you are ever in Colorado Springs, you have to go on this tour! God's provision is evident everywhere.

Fall Colors of Colorado

We started a new tradition this year. We drove about an hour out of town to Woodland Park and Cripple Creek to check out the beautiful Aspens of Colorado. Of course after Robby and Joanna told us about this famous donut shop called the Donut Mill, we had to stop! T and I shared their realllly good biscuits and gravy while the girls shared that AND had a donut!

Then off to find those trees. Aren't the colors magnificent! The elevation here is about
9000 ft. Look at the cows! Aren't they cute.

Yes... we're missing one. Gabe stayed home, went to church, and did his homework. And then when we walked in the house we found a very VERY clean main level! Whoo Hoo!
