New Baby Monitor

Do you see it? Right there on my end table? No.. not the old fashion regular everyday phone, the CELL phone. I place it Right.There every night. I turn the volume up or turn the volume down depending on my mood.

So why a post on my cell phone? Well, since my kids left home I want to make sure if they need me they can get a hold of me. They do not.. I repeat.. Do NOT.. call the home line hardly ever. With one of our children (of whom I will remain un-named) the police have called us plen-ty of times on the home phone to discuss a ticket or not getting a ticket or staying out past curfew. So, now that they are gone or if my man is out on business, I want them to be able to get a hold of me.

It's turned into my baby monitor. I can't sleep unless it's with me. I'll get out of bed and run down the stairs just to get it. And yes... I have received text messages at midnight or later. I have received calls at odd times and would not for a minute want to miss them. Other than my sister who text me at midnight this week my time to tell me she was going to bed and we'd have to finish the conversation later. It was 11pm her time. Uh Huh. I missed that text. Terrell, on the other hand, heard it.. very LOUDLY. I forgot to turn my volume down from it being in my purse. It was full throttle singing the theme song to the Office and I was fully out from my wonderful sleep aid. :)

So there you have it, the new baby monitor of 2010 for moms with older kids.... and husbands who travel.
