Off-Roading or Just a Road Trip?

What a beautiful Monday! How about an off road trip!? Lunches packed, bought a handy-dandy BIG topographical map, gas in the truck.. we're ready! Oh and we're taking a new passenger along, Jazz.Over the rivers and through the woods to the trail we go... but wait. Does that say Road Closed? April thru November? No way? Back we go through the woods and over the river to another trial we go. No, it can't be.. but it is.. CLOSED. Robby pulled out his phone, got the trial uploaded online and off we went again. Surely the third times the charm.
Nope. Only thing we found was the Brotherhood of White People (scary!) and got some great scratches on the truck. Time to eat.

So we stop at this lookout, pull out our food, do the old fashion forest squatting (pee break) and regroup. The manly men try to find some road full of boulders and dirt.... that's actually open.

Jazz and Gabe did the only thing boys do on an off-road trip not off-road. Pose on a rock for picture of course. Or climb a tree for better cell service. Text anyone?

So we wait, we ponder.. we enjoy fresh air. Ahhhhh!

And we trudge around in the dirt in our stylish pink boots.

And last but not least, we ate some more. Or at least Keaton did. So we never found the trial we wanted, saw some amazing scenery, felt bad for Keaton (screamy sort of day), felt worse for Robby and Joanna (Listened to baby Keaton scream ... did we mention he had shots? Yah, he wasn't quite in an off-road kind of mood.) But we sure got some cool scratches on the truck. Come April.. we're gonna hit the road and find those rocks to climb.
